WPIAL Basketball Realignment

Section realignment for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 WPIAL Basketball Seasons is final. There is no major reshuffling as far as the local teams are concerned, but there are a few changes that will have an effect. Starting in Triple-A Boys, Burrell is moving up to join Kittanning’s section, and they should be a beatable opponent for the Cats. In Double-A Boys, Burrell was replaced with Shady Side, who figures to be a section force that Ford City, Freeport, and West Shamokin will have to deal with. Elderton was added to Single-A boys, and will play in Double-A girls, last year the Elderton Girls also played up. It will be interesting to see if / how all the Elderton teams start back up.
