Pitt Would Join the Big 10 if Asked
The discussion about Pitt joining the Big 10, came up on Tuesday Night’s show with Chris Peak from Pantherslair.com. According to Chris, the Panthers would stand to earn almost $20 million more per season in shared Football revenue. Not to mention the additional gate revenue at football game. This leaves no doubt in my mind that Pitt would jump to the Big Ten if asked. Now whether the move makes sense from an athletic performance standpoint is an entirely different question. Most universities use their athletics programs as a way to increase or promote enrollment, awareness, and donations. While is Pitt has yet to be reviewed for inclusion, there would probably be little doubt they would accept an invitation.
