Kittanning top Ford City in Boys Basketball
Last night Kittanning won the highly anticipated local match up against Ford City. Ford City had the lead in the 4th quarter, but Kittanning pulled away down the stretch. Ford City big man Dillen Statler did not play in the game, which was disappointing, as I certainly felt he would’ve had a major impact on the game. Ford City took Valley to overtime on Monday Night, and they certainly tried late in the game. However they did play hard. The key for Kittanning was their experience. They calmly took the lead in the fourth and never looked back. The game remained me a lot of last season’s contest, as Ktg junior Nathan Stolitza made a living driving the lane.
The Kittanning Boys have now defeated Ford City in Football and Basketball. I’m already looking forward to the baseball match-up as it has been ages since Kittanning went against 3-0 against Ford City. Actually I’m not sure it has ever happen. If you know the year, send me an email.

Kittanning beat Ford City in football, when FC had Gus Frerotte, and then twice in basketball the same year (1988-89 school year). The baseball game that spring was rained out and never rescheduled. Although Kittanning won their section and made it to the quarterfinals in AAA baseball that year.
Ford City lost to Kittanning in Hoops? that’s a shame. In my whole High School basketball career at Ford City (92-96)we never lost to Kittanning. Time have changed I guess.
personally kittannning varsity sports are on top this year because they have yet to lose to ford city in anything so far…check the facts rizzo…also you always run down kittanning football and how bad they are and what not…people need to stop thinking kittanning hockey is so great too because they play single A i mean come on there is no competition there…i dont like how you undermind all of kittanning sports but hockey
