joepaDon’t be surprised to hear a lot of rumors out there about this bowl being Joe Paterno’s last game coaching Penn State. The 10-2 Nittany Lions could get an at-large bid to a BCS bowl, along with the extra $15+ million and notoriety that comes along with a major bowl appearance. Penn State with their large alumni base are right at the top of possible at-large BCS candidates. A Pitt victory over Cincinnati on Saturday could hurt the Lions. The possibility of their bowl game being Joe Paterno’s last game, would seemly give PSU the edge for an at-large bid. I highly doubt that this will be JoePa’s last game, especially with a decent team coming back and more tickets to sale next year. However it’s a card I’m sure the Lions should and probably will play.

As of now a 10-2 Iowa and a possible 11-1 Cincinnati team would be the other top choices for an at-large BCS Bowl bid.
