Kittanning Hockey too Good for PIHL Single-A

2009 December 17

Kittanning Hockey is too good for single “A” period. This year Kittanning was dropped down to PIHL single-A hockey. Through eight games they’re 8-0, while out scoring their opponents 89-19. Only one time have they scored less then 10 goals, and could have easily scored 20 goals in a lot of games. Their only chance of being beaten will be against Mars who is 10-0 while out scoring their opponents 70-7. In hockey there are a lot fewer school competing. In Kittanning’s case the Belmont for years was one of only a few ice rinks. It’s the key reason Kittanning built such a good program, a program that is far ahead of current single-A schools. 12-2 is getting boring, I bet most fans would prefer more exciting games in “AA” even if it came at the expense of a state title in “A”.
