WPIAL Football Week 7 – Allegheny Conference Scores
Kittanning Wildcat fans who braved the elements last night were treated to a good game, but saw their team come up just short in another big game. Credit Kittanning for coming back in this game on two occasions, as it looked like Burrell had the game put away twice. The Bucs won 31-26 over Kittanning, behind the strength of their kicking game and big plays.
The weather and field conditions didn’t effect Burrell as much as I excepted, and it might have had just as much an effect on Kittanning as it limited Atwood’s ability to break a big run. Burrell scored at the right moments to throw Kittanning off their game plan. In the end Kittanning falls to 4-3 and still very much in the playoff hunt, they just have to beat Ford City. The win also puts Burrell in the playoffs.
Shady Side 42, Valley 13 – SSA is in the playoffs.
Freeport 48, West Shamokin 7 – Freeport is in the playoffs.
Ford City 55, Apollo Ridge 14 – Nice bounce back win, but it is still going to come down to the Kittanning Game
If Burrell, Freeport and shadyside win out who wins the section and what seeds would they be
It will come down to margin of victory for all three teams. I’ll do a post about this later in the week.
