WPIAL Football Burrell at Freeport Friday’s Big Game.

Burrell will travel to Freeport Friday night in what is easily the most anticipated conference game of the season to date. With Ford City playing on Saturday, and Kittanning at West Shamokin, I would expect a few local fans will travel to Freeport. Ford City will host Freeport next week, so I’m sure the Sabers will also be in attendance. Burrell has emerged as the favorite to win the conference as they’ve looked the most impressive in their 3 wins. Freeport’s chance of a conference title will hinge on their defense being able to stop the high scoring Burrell offense which is averaging almost 50 points a game. Freeport feels they have a contending team, and will be looking to prove that on Friday Night.
