What is it about the Pirates

2009 July 28

pirates-logo It seems like in recent years traded Pirates go on to post better numbers with their new teams. Heading into last night’s game Nyjer Morgan was hitting an incredible .388 since joining Washington. This is over 100 points higher than his .277 average with the Bucs. Nate McLouth in almost an equal amount games seems to playing better for the Braves and has kept them right in the playoff hunt. Now Adam LaRoche after three games with Boston has is 5 for 12 with three runs batted in. I put most of the blame on manager John Russell and the Pirates’ front office. Whatever they’re doing down at PNC Park, it’s not getting the most out of the players. With almost every player on the Pirates being mentioned in trade rumors it will be an interesting build-up to Friday afternoon’s trading deadline.
