Top Pittsburgh Pirates Blogs and Websites
There is only one area where the Pirates are better then the Steelers and Penguins. Interestingly enough Bob Nutting and his cast of characters have no say in the matter. The Pirates are winners on the internet, as they have more quality sites covering them, then the Steelers and Pens combined. The Pirates have at least eight top quality sites covering them on a daily basis, and with all the potential trades on the horizon, there is no better place to get your Bucco news. Beside those sites, MLB does a great job with team sites and Pirates.com is always packed with good stuff. If you like your news short and to the point, there are even a lot of people twittering Pirate updates.
Here are my six recommendation of Pirate insights:
- PBC Blog – Dejan Kovacevic of the Post Gazette is frequently first with breaking news, and normal has the best inside access.
- BucsDugout – I don’t know what more you could want from a Pirates site. Plus there is a lot of good discussion in comments.
- W.H.Y.G.A.V.S. - Every game is recapped here.
- Pirates Report – Famed baseball reporter John Perotto breaks down all the happenings around the Bucs.
- Raise the Jolly Roger – Another site with lots of info on the Pirates, the like the clean design.
- Pittsburgh Lumber Company – Matt and Randy provide an unique look at the Pirates.
Clearly you can’t go wrong with any of the sites mentioned above, but if you’re a die hard fan you here are a few more sites you should check out, if you haven’t already.

Besides these there are also a lot of great Pittsburgh sports sites that do a great job keeping you updated about the Pirates, we only chose to highlight strictly Pirate sites for this column.
