PIAA Stalls Football Changes

The PIAA’s move to six football classifications was put on hold — at least until the end of July, but I still expect it to happen. The popular theory now has the WPIAL keeping its four classifications but sending six teams to the state playoffs. However, no one has figured out a fair way to accomplish this. If it’s possible to logistically work this out, then I believe the WPIAL will go along with the six classification system. At the end of the day the WPIAL still wants four classifications, but this might be best alternative option they have, despite the threats that the WPIAL will not split from the PIAA in football.  I know there people who say PIAA won’t do this. I say it’s becoming more and more likely there be no Kittanning vs. Ford City football game in 2010.
