Ford City H.S. Year in Review.

Ford City celebrated success in all seasons. In the fall the football team again made it to the final 8 of WPIAL Playoffs. However their historic section unbeaten streak did come to an end. Basketball realignment was good to the Sabers, as both the boys and girls with senior lead teams won section titles. The night of February 17th saw, the girls get upset by Jeanette, followed by the boys almost pulling off an overtime upset of Quaker Valley. In the spring both the softball and baseball teams returned to the WPIAL playoffs. In fact in all the major team sports Ford City participates in only girls volleyball didn’t reach the playoffs. Next year should be a real interesting for FC fans, as there will be a lot of new faces, and the addition of a boys volleyball team.

Unfortunately I don’t I have space in the Kittanning Paper to go into more detail.  I’ve approached these reviews as more of a review the school’s athletic programs, and not a congratulatory message to the teams, as I try to cover those accomplishments in separate columns. I’m also not lookingat individual preformances becuase they reflect more on the individual’s own desire to succeed than they are a barometer of  the school atheltic programs.
