Penguins ready for Capitals

Washington was 3-1 against the Pens in the regular season, but with new momentum the Pens are looking to return to the Eastern Conference Finals. Simeon Varlamov, Washington’s rookie goaltender may not be able to handle the Pen’s attack. While the Pens are preparing for their playoff series local softball and baseball teams are starting their push to the playoffs. In softball Kittanning, with a 7-3 in section play is close to reaching the “AAA” playoffs. Ford City with 9 wins is still in the hunt for a section title. In local baseball there is only one week of regular season play left. Ford City and Freeport are battling it out for a playoff spot, and Ford City will travel to Freeport Monday night for an all important show down under the lights.
